Dec 1, 2022 | Planning Tips

First off, CONGRATULATIONS! This is such an exciting moment for you and your partner to enjoy! Now that you two have had time to settle down after the ” just popped the question” excitement, you may be feeling slightly overwhelmed on where to start. We get it, planning a wedding can be stressful, but we are here to help you!

First and foremost – Enjoy each other. Be sure to enjoy time together without being surrounded by all your friends and family. Make sure to enjoy time with each other and soak in that bliss before sharing your exciting news! It will make that proposal that much better knowing you were able to soak up the moment and memories!

Announce to your people before posting on social media- We know you want to share those stunning proposal photos with the world, but be sure to share the news with your friends and family before you take to socials. This doesn’t mean you have to call your whole contact list, but make sure you tell your circle first.

Start thinking about you wedding date- There is no right or wrong answer to selecting a wedding date. Maybe you want to wait for a life event to occur before the big day, or maybe the venue you love only has a few dates, perhaps the photographer you adore is booked until a certain year, maybe you want a short or long engagement, whatever the factor, know the timeline is up to you! There is no pressure to following a specific timeline since it’s YOUR day.

After selecting you wedding date – A few other key dates you need to think about: engagement party, bridal shower, bachelor(ette) party, and of course, your wedding day. Of course, you don’t need to have any extra parties besides your wedding day if you don’t want them, but it’s good to think about your wedding events timeline as a whole.

Get inspired – Remember all those Pinterest boards you have been making? The TikTok’s you’ve been favoriting? The Instagram posts hat you have been saving? Yep, now is the perfect time to revisit those!

Visiting the vendors social media pages or websites of your top venue choices will also give you a ton of inspiration! You can see what other couples are doing at their weddings, which will help you create a list of things you want (or don’t want) at your wedding.

The best thing you can do, is enter wedding planning with an open mind.
